Song Premiere: The Gluts – “Colline Bianche”
We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of The Gluts’ new song “Colline Bianche” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Estasi, which is scheduled to be released on May 5th through Fuzz Club Records. You can purchase the album here.
“Colline Bianche” is utterly ferocious post-punk that, throughout its running time, constantly teeters on the brink ready to self-destruct at any minute – like a cross between the noisiest extremes of Killing Joke and newer post-punk contemporaries such as Protomartyr. Until the swirling hisses of feedback in its finale, the song begins as a slow-burner of brooding basslines, tortured vocals and almost-gothic guitars. It slowly builds into a piercing cacophony of noise before suddenly dying down and starting over – giving the listener whiplash over and over as it throws them between a mix of foreboding psych/post-punk and a blast of sheer noise.
Despite leaning further on the noise-rock/psych side of things, The Gluts have always had a DIY punk ethos at their heart. This is most evident in their primitive energy, both on record and live. Since the release of their debut album Warsaw in 2014, the band have been playing shows and building up a strong following across Italy – particularly after a recent run of shows with NY psych legends White Hills.
With the release of LP2 – the first on Fuzz Club – it’s clear The Gluts are undeniable set to blow away noiseniks across the globe with an album this intense and bludgeoning. Already earning a strong reputation across Italy these guys are about to take their angular noise-rock to international waters – with something to love for lovers of punk, psychedelia and noise alike.
